Gone are the days of $4.50 bread! They really need to husband proof food labels. If they did the husband wouldn’t buy bread containing bleached flour. What?! Oh yeah, and once H bought full price bread. What, you didn’t buy the sale bread? How could you! By the way, I wasn’t even going to eat the bread. I just had a problem with the price. Which leads me to my next dilemma I can’t eat store bought bread! Most market bread has honey in it so I have nothing to spread wonderful organic peanut butter on. Boo!
I’ve been eyeing the Breadman TR875 for a while now. I tried my hand at making wheat bread once sans a bread machine and ended up with an inedible loaf. I’m hoping this guy makes my bread life easier.

There is nothing better than homemade bread. I've made challah before. It wasn't too difficult, just time consuming. Worth every second of work though!
oh please give an update on this bread machine if you like it, i just pulled my old machine out of the closet (it was well used for years and years and then stored away) and it isnt baking anymore (stops at the dough cycle. i need a new one! let me know if you recommend this one.
thanks!
:)
My dad bought a bread machine for $5 at a yard sale. makes a nice, if small loaf of heavy bread. Great with peanut butter. I bet the Breadman will be all that you dreamed of and more.
Dude you grow your own San Marzanos?! I am holding you to that offer :) That sounds so flippin' fantastic.
For real, though. Let me know when it's harvest time.
Nice blog, I will have to add you to my blog roll. Nice soil block set up. I want to build one out of wood before spring, manly because I am too cheap to buy one ;-)
We have a bread maker but have never used it. I have baked some no-kneed sourdough bread though. It was fun. I have not perfected it yet, but I'm trying. Still tastes good though. Hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of your machine there. Looks like a nice one!
And oh yeah, I'm trying San Marzanos this year as well, if they germinate, hehe. They and 5 others are on top of the fridge waiting to germinate. Can you tell I'm not patient, hehe?
Thanks for sharing!
I second a no-knead sourdough. Use this recipe from Alton Brown of Good Eats on the Food Network. Practically impossible to screw up. I bake a loaf a week. (Easy to do with a 50 lbs. bag of bread flour from Costco.)
